One of the initiatives taken to expand golf tourism in 2019, supported by the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, was joining the International Association of Golf Agencies, a global organization that specializes in golf tourism. Various golf clubs are conducting campaigns to promote Azerbaijan as a new golf tourism destination. As a result, with the assistance of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and the Dreamland and Azerbaijan National golf clubs, Baltic Breaks, the most influential golf trip operator in the Baltic countries, visited Azerbaijan with a 12-member golf team. The guests visited attractions in Baku and Guba over seven days and competed in the Azeri Cup 2021 golf championship at Dreamland and the Azerbaijan National Golf Club.
The competition took place in the Stableford format on 4-7 October 2021 at the National Golf Club in Guba and on 7-10 October at Dreamland Golf Club in Baku. The Baltic Breaks team won the second round at Dreamland by a significant margin. Leho Alliksoo, Jury Ross and Margarita Ross took first, second, and third place respectively. The golfers were awarded trophies and other prizes.
